Famed as 'one of the nine fortresses in China', Badaling is the first-opened Great Wall Section in China. Besides walls, there are also many other scenic spots in Badaling, including stele forest, stone statues, Great Wall Museum, and Chadao Old City.

Jinshanling, the best-preserved Ming-Dynasty (1368 - 1644) wall in China, totals 10.5 km (6.5 miles) long from the western end Gubeikou to the eastern end Wangjing Tower, enjoying the fame 'Within the Great Wall, the Jinshan section alone takes the prize'.

Characterized by having battlements on both sides, Mutianyu connects Juyongguan and Badaling in the west, and joins the Gubeikou and Jinshnling in the east, of which 2,250 meters (2,461 yards) have been opened to the public.

Situated in the Gubeikou Town of Miyun County, 120 km (74.5 miles) from downtown Beijing, Simatai totals 5.7 km (3.5 miles) long from the eastern end Wangjing Tower to the western end Houchuankou.

Known as 'the first pass under heaven', Juyongguan is located in a valley, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Changping County in Beijing. There are many scenic spots in Juyongguan, including the Northern and Southern Quancheng, the Ancient Cannons, the Yuntai Tower, and the Water Gate.

Gubeikou is located in Miyun County, some 120 km (74.6 miles) from downtown Beijing. There are many scenic spots in the Gubeikou, including Gubeikou Ancient Town, Panlongshan Great Wall and Wanshou Imperial Palace.

Huanghuacheng is situated in the Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, about 65 km (40.4 miles) from downtown Beijing. It is renowned for the unique view of wall at the lakeside.
