Mutianyu

Located in Huairou District, about 70 km (43.5 miles) from downtown Beijing, Mutianyu is well-known for its beautiful scenery. It was initially built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) by the first emperor Zhu Yuanzhuang. The wall connects Juyongguan and Badaling in the west, and joins the Gubeikou and Jinshnling in the east. Mutianyu Great Wall is now rewarded 'one of the 16 famous tourist attractions in Beijing'.
