Located in the mid section of Xiling Gorge, Three Gorges Dam is the major construction of Three Gorges Project, the world largest irrigation project. The construction of Three Gorges Project started in 1994 and finally finished in 2009. The project makes great contribution to flood-controlling, power-generation and navigation of the Three Gorges area. Apart from the gigantic dam, there are also attractive scenic spot in the area, such as the Tanziling Ridge, the artificial lakes and islands as well as the Exhibition Hall of Three Gorges Project.
