Qutang Gorge

Qutang Gorge is the No. 1 gorge of the Yangtze River. Although only 8 km (5 miles) long from the White Emperor City in Fengjie County to the Daxi Town in Wushan County, it is the most spectacular gorge among the three gorges of the Yangtze River. Qutang Gorge is famous for the steep cliffs and the surging waves of the Yangtze River. There are also other scenic spots along the gorge, including the Fengjie Ancient City, Yufu Tower and Mengliang Staircase.
