Kong Family Mansion

After Confucius passed away, his oldest son and oldest grandson lived in Confucius house to look after his relics and pay their respects to him. From the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279), when Kong Zongyuan, the 46th generation of Confucius was given the title of Yansheng Gong, the house has been reconstructed for many times, hence the mansion we can see today. The mansion is mainly built into the style of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1911) Dynasties, totals an area of 120,000 square meters (143,519 square yards). In the mansion, there are thousands of historical and cultural relics about Confucius, which is of high historical value.
