Shanhaiguan

Shanhaiguan Pass was built in 1381, the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is situated against the Yanshan Mountain and faces the Bohai Sea, hence the name Shanhaiguan (the pass between mountain and sea). Located 15 km (9.3 miles) east of Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province, Shanhaiguan is one of the northeastern passes of the Ming-dynasty Great Wall. There is a small city in Shanhaiguan Pass, in which there are still many Ming-dynasty architectures such as the streets, the courtyards and the gate towers.
