Yandaixiejie

Yandaixiejie is one of the most famous hutongs in Beijing City. Located near the Drum Tower, it has been a busy commercial hutong since the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). It was named Yan Dai Xie Jie because there were many shops selling tobacco pouches (Yan Dai) and pipes and antiques at that time. Though the old street has been replaced by the new one, the Ming and Qing Dynasty styles and many old shops are remained, especially the tobacco shops and antique shops.
