Guandi Temple was built in the Sui Dynasty (581-618), to offer people's respect to Guan Yu, a famous hero of the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280). It is located in Xiezhou County of Yuncheng City which is said to be the hometown of Guan Yu. The temple covers an area of 73,000 square meters (18 acres), and can be divided into two major sections: the Jieyi Garden, where mainly shows the life of Guan Yu, and the temple section where is mainly for the sacrificial activities.
