Mount Wutai is a holy place of Buddhism at home and abroad and the No.1 Buddhist mountain in China. There are many ancient temples in the mountain such as Nanchan Temple, Xiantong Temple, Yuanzhao Temple and Shuxiang Temple, which house many ancient statues, murals and other historical relics. Namely 'Clear Cool Mountain', the mountain is also known as a famous summer resort in China, because of its beautiful landscape and pleasant weather (the average temperature in summer is around 20 degrees centigrade).
