-
Dai Temple is the largest and best-preserved group of ancient architecture on Mount Tai. Record has it that it was initially built in the Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 207 BC), and had been the place where the emperors held ceremonies to worship the god of mountains in ancient times. Taking up an area of 960,000 square meters (237 acres), the temple was built into the style of a imperial palace, in which the most representative building is Tiankuang Hall built in the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279). In addition, there are over 300 ancient tablets inscribed between the Qin Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty, which are known as the Tablet Forest of Dai Temple.
