As one of the oldest zoos in China, Beijing Zoo was first opened in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) as a part of the experimental field of the government. Now Beijing Zoo has 7,000 animals of 600 species, including many rare animals, such as giant panda, snub-nosed monkey, polar bear, Chinese giant salamander, andean flamingo and Tibetan gazelle. The most special part of Beijing Zoo is the panda section, where you can see many cuddly panda bears.
